iMac Software Update Arrives To Address Freezing Problems

Apple has released software updates for the newer 20-inch and 24-inch iMac models with 2.0, 2.4, or 2.8GHz processors iMac running Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and 10.5 Leopard. This is a fix for these Macs that have experienced freezing.

iMac Software Update 1.3 (Leopard) and iMac Software Update 1.2 (Tiger) are available from Software Update or from Apple’s Web site.

Apple Remote Desktop Gets an Update

The Apple Remote Desktop 3.2 update is recommended for all users and addresses numerous issues related to overall reliability, usability and compatibility. It includes specific fixes for:

  • compatibility with Mac OS X Leopard
  • getting status and connecting to computers on slow networks
  • typing accented characters on European language keyboards
  • using Open Application tasks on Intel-based Macs
  • accurately reporting operating system version numbers
  • compatibility with third party VNC viewers and servers
